Charas
This Enterprise Engagement Alliance Zoom show on Thu., Nov. 19 at 1 pm ET US features leaders in human capital management, measurement, accounting, and disclosures on what may be one of the most significant changes in business in a generation: the materiality of human capital. Register here.

This 30-minute webinar featuring leaders in human capital management, accounting, disclosures, and governance will discuss the meaning of materiality and how the move to formal human capital disclosures will affect organizations, both public and private.
Bukspan
The program, hosted by Bruce Bolger, EEA chair, features: Solange Charas, PhD.: Founder and CEO of HCMoneyball; Neri Bukspan: Partner, EY Americas Accounting, Reporting and Governance Leader - Financial Accounting Advisory Services; Larry Beeferman, Ph.D.: Independent Consultant, Fellow, Harvard University, Labor and Worklife Program. (See below for more details on panelist backgrounds.)

In August, 2020, the Securities & Exchange Commission modernized its SK-1 disclosure requirements to include “a description of the registrant’s human capital resources to the extent such disclosures would be material to an understanding of the registrant’s business.” These requirements apply to all US publicly held companies and likely will be adopted by many private equity firms as well.

bolgerThis webinar will address how companies should interpret this mandate. As the SEC bases the need for disclosures on a principles-based approach, specific human capital metrics were not specified. Which human capital measures or objectives should be reviewed to understand materiality? What human capital measures could be considered material? How will other reporting frameworks (World Economic Forum (WEF), International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) influence the determination of materiality and corresponding required disclosures?

This webinar will address:
The complexity associated with understanding materiality of human capital.
Exploring the implications of principles-based approaches as it relates to human capital.
Discussing various “frameworks” (WEF, IIRC, SASB, GRI, etc.) and how this can inform board deliberations related to human capital materiality, and,
How to determine what to disclose, when and who should be involved.

The panelists have extensive experience on this rapidly emerging subject of critical important to almost any organization.
