An analysis by the Enterprise Engagement Alliance of the top 15 companies with the best reputations with US consumers suggests a correlation with employee satisfaction and potentially share price performance as well.
Each year, an Axios Harris polls over 16,000 Americans to gauge the reputations of the most visible brands in the US. The EEA compared the results of all the companies with their Glassdoor.com ratings and, in the case of public companies, their five-year stock returns.
All but three of the top 15 companies have good or better Glassdoor.com ratings, which are based on anonymous posts by employees. Six out of the 10 public companies on the list outperformed the S&P 500 in the stock market over the past five years as of June 2025.
Interestingly, the Customer Index of JUST Capital, comprised of companies with high customer satisfaction scores, has reportedly outperformed the Russell 1000 Equal Weighted benchmark by 4% since inception in December 2021.
